Overview
The Green Transition Assessment offers a clear overview of the progress, opportunities, and challenges faced by Armenia as it advances its green transition.
Emphasis is placed on sectors in Armenia that are most critical for long-term sustainability and alignment with European standards. Rather than narrowly evaluating legislative requirements, the report provides a high-level analysis of sectoral dynamics within the country. These assessments serve as the groundwork for informed, collaborative, and actionable strategies toward a more sustainable future in Armenia.
The assessment covers:
- Environmental and climate status and trends
- Policy frameworks and implementation tools
- Public sector capacity
- Non-governmental and private sector capabilities - technical, infrastructural, and skills-based
- Cross-cutting themes, including transition finance, research and innovation, digitalization, and ensuring a just transition
The report outlines key challenges, assesses financial requirements, and highlights opportunities for enhanced cooperation in support of an effective and equitable green transition in Armenia.
