Who We Are
Our project, led by the Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI) and funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), partners with governmental institutions and civil society organizations in Armenia. Our mission is to promote green transition through policy harmonization with EU standards.

Bio
Karine Taslakyan is a National Coordinator for the «Green Agenda for Armenia, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine» project, in the country of Armenia. Karine supports thematic teams of experts in developing a Comprehensive Green Transition Assessment report for Armenia, and in thematic areas relevant to the EU Green Deal - engaging expert and stakeholder participation.
She is responsible for the streamlining of regular dialogue, consultations and communication between the Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI) and governmental stakeholders and communicates with other relevant donor initiatives on the objectives, benefits and prospects of the Green Agenda project.
Karine is a sustainable policy advocacy and project management professional, with vast experience in the planning and implementation of technical assistance to development projects focusing on energy efficiency and renewable energy; environmental and climate change policy; solid and hazardous waste management; disaster risk reduction; local self-governance reform; and community development.
Prior to the Green Agenda project Karine has coordinated a project providing technical assistance to Armenia’s Ministry of Environment, on improving the management of hazardous waste in the country. She has also previously worked more than 10 years with the Energy Saving Foundation (ESF) – a local sustainable energy and environmental think tank. Within EU-supported programs, Karine has worked with municipalities aiming to build their capacities in municipal energy management and planning. She has worked on Sustainable Energy Action Plans and Green City Action Plans (EBRD framework) for several cities, while coordinating stakeholder engagement activities of the «EU for Armenia’s Sustainable Energy Program».
During her four years with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Katrine served as Project Management National Consultant, where she was directly involved in data collection and analysis, monitoring and reporting of several technical assistance and policy advisory tasks in solid waste management, water supply, energy, and other infrastructure development projects.
Karine has coordinated for seven years implementation of the EU supported regional programme in Armenia aimed at strengthening capacity of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia in prevention, preparedness, and response to natural and man-made disasters.
Karine holds a master‘s degree in Public Administration from the University of Washington and a master’s degree in Economy from Yerevan State University. She has received a Certificate of Achievement in Energy Planning and Sustainable Development from the University of Oslo. Karine is also an alumna of the Innovation and Governance for Urban Nature-based Solutions capacity development program offered by Lund University.

Bio
Nazenik Saroyan is a National Communications Expert for the "Green Agenda for Armenia, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine" project, in the country of Armenia. Nazenik promotes the Green Agenda’s core values across Armenia, by increasing awareness on the importance of achieving climate neutrality and highlighting the benefits associated with doing so.
Starting at an Armenian Scientific and Youth Foundation, Nazenik spent 5 years in research and communications conveying complex issues clearly and effectively. She gained experience in public relations and governmental communications as a junior researcher at the Public Relations and Information Centre for the Office of the President of the Republic of Armenia.
Nazenik also spent 8 years as a journalist covering security-related topics relevant to Armenia, the South Caucasus, and the Middle East. She has for the past 2 years ventured into the high-tech industry as a copywriter, crafting compelling narratives for cutting-edge technology companies.
Nazenik holds a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Yerevan Univeristy, and is currently pursuing an international master’s degree in Armenian Studies at the National Institute of Oriental Languages and Civilizations (INALCO) in France.
