Green Transition Assessment
Explore our Green Transition Assessments - insightful analyses of national policies, key sectors, and transition readiness in each partner country. These reports share findings and considerations to help guide nations on their journey toward 2050 climate neutrality.
Overview
The Green Transition Assessment offers a clear overview of the progress, opportunities, and challenges faced by Ukraine as it advances its green transition.
Emphasis is placed on sectors in Ukraine that are most critical for long-term sustainability and alignment with European standards. Rather than narrowly evaluating legislative requirements, the report provides a high-level analysis of sectoral dynamics within the country. These assessments serve as the groundwork for informed, collaborative, and actionable strategies toward a more sustainable future in Ukraine.

The assessment covers:
- Environmental and climate status and trends
- Policy frameworks and implementation tools
- Public sector capacity
- Non-governmental and private sector capabilities - technical, infrastructural, and skills-based
- Cross-cutting themes, including transition finance, research and innovation, digitalization, and ensuring a just transition
The report outlines key challenges, assesses financial requirements, and highlights opportunities for enhanced cooperation in support of an effective and equitable green transition in Ukraine.
