United for Accountability: Reflecting on the Environmental Impact of War at Kyiv Conference
We were honoured to participate in the “United 4 Justice, United 4 Nature” conference on accountability for wartime environmental damage in Kyiv, Ukraine.
The conference served as a platform to raise international awareness on the devastating consequences of war on the environment, explore legal, scientific, and economic aspects related to accountability, and identify gaps in current laws and practices.
The event brought together a distinguished lineup of speakers and participants, including representatives from the Office of the President of Ukraine, ministers from various countries, as well as delegates from the European Union, United Nations, and the International Criminal Court.
During the conference, Bernardas Padegimas, who leads the Green Agenda for Ukraine, Georgia, Moldova and Armenia project, shared valuable insights and future plans from the Green Agenda project in Ukraine. This initiative specifically targets supporting Ukraine's green recovery journey, as well as its pursuit of climate neutrality and integration into the European Union.
