New national assessment shows progress on Moldova’s green transition

Moldova is approaching a defining moment on its European Union accession path. With EU negotiations intensifying around environment, climate, agriculture, rural development, transport and energy alignment, SEI – with support from the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) – launched its Moldova national assessment report in Chisinau on 10 June 2025 under the Green Agenda project.

Call for Irrigation Project Engineer/Manager: Contribute to the Wastewater Reuse in Agriculture Study in Moldova (May-Dec 2025)

The Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI) is seeking for a local expert in Moldova for a short-term assignment as part of an in-depth study on wastewater reuse in agricultural irrigation in Moldova. This important study supports Moldova’s alignment with Regulation (EU) 2020/741 on minimum requirements for water reuse, contributing to sustainable water management, circular economy, and climate adaptation efforts.

Our project in Moldova aims to speed up the Green Transition by aligning with the EU Green Deal (EGD) and supporting the country's move towards EU membership. Our approach is customized to meet the distinct needs of Moldova within a comprehensive framework.
